Thank you for responding. I guess the underlying answer is that men have no appreciation for how these issues may affect women. Yet, we seem to think that it is our prerogative to “manage” the choices women make.

However, my response was not intended to inflict any kind of guilt or moral judgement. Just the opposite. I wanted to assure that you were not being punished for past sins. That, to me, is the essence of toxic religion. The God of my understanding would never do that.
